Gamma AI Review 2026: Slides, API, Credits & Gamma 5
Gamma AI review covering presentations, Gamma 5, pricing credits, websites, PowerPoint export, API, integrations, G2 feedback, pros, cons and best-fit users.

Official Gamma pages verify AI-generated presentations, documents, websites and social content plus AI Agent, model tiers, imports, exports, branding, analytics, custom domains and API access.
G2 reviewers commonly praise fast polished presentation creation and intuitive design automation, while recent reviews also mention template repetition, limited customization and PowerPoint-export friction.
Gamma clearly publishes plan structure, credit allowances and a 28% annual discount, but the current public crawl does not expose reliable numerical paid prices, so SearchSagar does not invent them.
Gamma states SOC 2 Type II compliance and offers stronger data controls, SSO and SCIM on organizational plans, with current API and content-import/export workflows directly documented.
Scored by Surabhi Singh
Gamma is an AI-first content creation platform for presentations, documents, websites, social posts and graphics. Instead of starting with a blank slide canvas, users can begin with a prompt, outline, PDF, PowerPoint file or other source material and let Gamma handle much of the structure, layout and visual formatting.
In 2026, Gamma is moving beyond its original “AI presentation maker” identity. Gamma 5 is rolling out in public beta with a rebuilt AI editor that keeps the original goal in context during revisions, can research on the web and add citations, and can restyle or refine content without regenerating the entire project. The platform also supports multi-page sites, custom domains, API generation, MCP-based connectors and Slack generation workflows.
Gamma's strongest value is speed. A consultant, founder or sales team can turn rough notes into a client-facing deck in minutes, then refine specific slides, apply branding, share a web link, export to PowerPoint or publish the same underlying content as a site. The tradeoff is control: Gamma's dynamic layouts are faster than conventional slide design, but teams that require pixel-perfect PowerPoint fidelity or complex charts may still prefer a traditional presentation tool.

What is Gamma?
Gamma is a web-native visual communication tool. Presentations remain the flagship use case, but the same editor can produce documents, websites, social content and graphics.
The core idea is different from PowerPoint's blank-canvas model. Gamma uses responsive slides/cards that automatically adapt as content changes. Users can still control themes, layouts, images, text, embeds and page settings, but the system handles more of the formatting.
This makes Gamma especially attractive to users who know what they want to say but do not want to spend hours aligning text boxes, sourcing images and rebuilding layouts manually.
Who should use Gamma?
Gamma is a strong fit for consultants, founders, sales teams, marketers, educators and product teams that frequently turn information into polished visual communication. Typical workflows include pitch decks, proposals, sales enablement, training material, internal updates, microsites and social content.
It is also increasingly useful for automated content production. Pro and higher can use the public API, and current connectors allow tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, Superhuman and Atlassian to generate Gamma content through MCP. Zapier, Make and n8n can automate generation through the API.
Gamma is less suitable when the final deliverable must remain a heavily edited native PowerPoint with strict master-slide rules, advanced data visualization or unusual animations. It can export PPTX, but web-native design does not always translate perfectly into traditional slide geometry.

Create with AI is the main entry point. Users provide a topic, paste notes, upload source content or import a presentation, and Gamma creates a structured first draft with text, images and layout.
Free is limited to 10 slides per initial AI generation. Current Help Center documentation says paid workspaces can generate up to 100 slides per AI generation, although users can always add more slides manually or with Agent afterward.
Credit cost depends on the number of slides, model choice and complexity. This is important because a 10-slide light draft and a 70-slide research-heavy deck do not have the same AI cost.
Gamma Agent
Agent is the conversational editing layer. It can create new slides, rewrite text, change layouts, generate images, research topics and revise existing content.
Gamma's newer editing system is designed to make targeted changes without destroying the rest of the deck. In Gamma 5 public beta, the AI retains more context about the project's original goal so a small change can stay consistent with the surrounding narrative.
Agent-generated additions use credits. Gamma does not impose the same hard slide cap when adding slides through Agent, but large additions can consume substantial monthly credit allowance.
Gamma 5 public beta
Gamma 5 is the current major product evolution. The rebuilt AI editor can incorporate links, screenshots and source material, restyle a project conversationally and perform web research with citations.
Gamma is also introducing generation effort controls. The current effort picker offers different levels that trade speed for stronger models and more credit usage. Pro, Ultra, Business and Enterprise can access Max effort, while Free and Plus use Standard by default.
This makes Gamma more useful for content-heavy decks where reasoning and source synthesis matter, but it also makes credit forecasting less linear. Higher effort generally means higher credit consumption.
Presentations and dynamic slides
Gamma slides are responsive rather than fixed PowerPoint-style canvases. Content can reflow as text, images and components change.
This makes initial creation fast and reduces layout breakage during editing. It is also the reason PowerPoint export can require cleanup: responsive web layouts must be translated into a fixed slide format.
Users can choose fixed page ratios when needed, including presentation-friendly formats, and Gamma has improved controls around slide size, backgrounds and export behavior.
Documents and multi-page content
Gamma can create long-form documents and multi-page experiences in the same environment. Multi-page gammas are useful for proposals, courses, ebooks, client hubs and recurring team documents.
The ability to share one link instead of several separate documents can simplify client communication. However, converting a Gamma into a site changes its mode: current documentation says a site cannot simply be reverted to a presentation. Content must be copied into a new presentation if the team changes direction later.
Website creation
Gamma can publish simple websites and microsites. Users can organize navigation, create multiple pages, publish to a gamma.site subdomain and connect a custom domain on Pro and higher.
Pro supports up to 10 custom domains, while Ultra and current Business documentation support up to 100. Enterprise can add broader administrative controls.
Gamma sites are suitable for portfolios, proposals, launch pages and content hubs. They are not a direct replacement for a full CMS when advanced ecommerce, application logic or highly custom front-end development is required.
Image generation
Image-model access expands by plan. Free includes basic models, Plus adds advanced models, Pro adds premium models and Ultra adds the most advanced/Ultra models.
Gamma also lets users customize image style prompts to keep visual output aligned with a theme. Higher-quality image models generally consume more credits.
PowerPoint and Google Slides workflows
Gamma can export to PPTX, PDF and PNG and supports Google Slides workflows. It can also import PPTX and PDF source material.
The key limitation is fidelity. Complex layouts, fonts, embedded elements or dynamic Gamma components can shift when translated into PowerPoint. Teams that deliver editable PPTX files to clients should test a representative deck before standardizing on Gamma.
For many teams, the best workflow is to create and present natively in Gamma when possible, and use PPTX export only when the recipient requires PowerPoint.
API and automation
Gamma API v1.0 is generally available and requires Pro or higher. It can generate presentations, documents, webpages and social posts from external systems.
The API supports static API keys and OAuth 2.0. Current integrations include automation platforms such as Zapier, Make and n8n, allowing teams to generate personalized decks at scale.
API usage consumes the same credit economy. A bulk workflow that generates hundreds of decks can therefore create meaningful credit demand even when users rarely open the Gamma interface.
MCP connectors and Slack
Gamma now supports connectors through MCP so compatible AI tools can generate Gamma content conversationally. Current documentation references ChatGPT, Claude, Glean, Superhuman and Atlassian.
Gamma's Slack app can generate a deck or one-pager from a channel, thread or attached file. That is useful for turning a discussion into an executive update without first moving the source material into Gamma manually.
Branding and templates
Plus removes Gamma branding. Pro adds custom branding, custom fonts, headers/footers and stronger theme controls.
Gamma also supports template instructions on eligible plans. These let teams store writing rules, company context and slide-level instructions inside a template so repeated generation follows consistent guidance.
Brand governance is improving, but a highly controlled enterprise slide system can still require more manual review than a locked PowerPoint master template.
Analytics and sharing
Pro and higher provide detailed analytics and advanced sharing controls. Users can see engagement and publish content as web-native links instead of emailing file attachments.
For sales and marketing teams, this can be more useful than a static deck because the sender can understand whether recipients opened or engaged with the material.
Pricing and credits
| Plan | Public numerical price | Monthly credits | Key limits/features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 400 initial credits; no monthly refresh | Up to 10 slides per AI generation, basic image models, imports/exports |
| Plus | Verify current checkout | 1,000 | Branding removal, advanced image models, paid-generation limits, higher input allowance |
| Pro | Verify current checkout | 4,000 | Premium image models, API, analytics, custom branding, 10 custom domains |
| Ultra | Verify current checkout; current Help Center says monthly-only | 20,000 | Most advanced models, Max effort, early access, 100 custom domains |
| Business | Verify current self-serve checkout | 6,000/member under current Business docs | SSO, centralized billing, shared credit pooling, advanced image models, 100 domains |
| Enterprise | Custom annual agreement | Custom | SCIM, admin controls, connector/API governance, invoiced billing, onboarding |
Gamma currently advertises a 28% discount for eligible annual plans. Plus and Pro annual subscriptions still receive credits monthly rather than receiving an annual credit lump sum. Ultra's current Help Center documentation says an annual subscription is not yet available.
Unused monthly plan credits roll over up to twice the plan's monthly allowance. Purchased credits are tracked separately and can be bought by paid users.
Security and enterprise controls
Gamma states that it is SOC 2 Type II compliant. Business adds SSO, SOC 2 documentation on request and a locked training opt-out. Enterprise adds SCIM provisioning, advanced admin controls, connector/API governance, purchase orders and dedicated onboarding/customer success.
Enterprise is the appropriate tier when presentation content includes sensitive customer, financial or internal information and the organization needs centralized identity and governance.
What G2 users say
G2 currently rates Gamma AI 3.9/5 from 37 reviews. Positive themes center on speed, ease of use and the ability to generate attractive presentations quickly without design expertise.
Negative themes include repetitive or template-like output, limited advanced customization, chart/data visualization limitations and PowerPoint-export friction. These concerns align with Gamma's core tradeoff: it optimizes speed and visual polish more than manual slide engineering.
Collaboration and workspace behavior
Gamma supports shared workspaces, comments and collaborative editing, but paid billing is per member. That creates a practical distinction between people who need full editing access and stakeholders who only need a presentation link. Teams should avoid adding every reviewer as a paid workspace member when link-based review is sufficient.
For distributed sales or consulting teams, workspace collaboration can be useful because themes, presentations and source material remain in one shared environment. The value increases further on Business, where centralized billing, SSO and credit pooling reduce the friction of managing several independent Pro accounts.
Data-heavy presentation limitations
Gamma can create tables, diagrams and visual structures quickly, but it is not primarily a financial-modeling or BI presentation system. Analysts building board decks from complex spreadsheets may still prefer PowerPoint connected to Excel or another charting workflow where every axis, series and data label can be controlled precisely.
A practical hybrid workflow is to build the narrative and general visual structure in Gamma, then insert externally prepared charts as images or embeds. This preserves Gamma's speed without relying on its layout system for every analytical graphic.
When Gamma is most efficient
Gamma delivers the largest time savings when source information is reasonably structured and the final output can remain web-native. Examples include converting a strategy memo into a client deck, turning a research report into a training presentation, publishing a product launch as both a deck and microsite, or generating personalized sales materials through the API.
The time savings shrink when the project requires constant exception handling: strict master-slide rules, complex animation, custom charting, unusual fonts or many rounds of pixel-level client revisions. In those cases, an AI-generated first draft may still help, but conventional presentation software remains the production environment.

SearchSagar rating
Rating Breakdown
4.8/5
4.6/5
3.7/5
4.6/5
The 4.5 SearchSagar score reflects Gamma's excellent creation speed, broad content formats and increasingly strong automation surface. Pricing/value transparency is the weakest area because official pages expose plan structure and credit allowances but do not reliably expose stable numerical paid prices in the public crawl.
Gamma versus major alternatives
Beautiful.ai is stronger when presentation design discipline and PowerPoint workflow matter more than websites or API-driven multi-format content. Canva AI is broader for design teams that need presentations plus social graphics, video, brand kits and a huge asset library. Microsoft Copilot is stronger when PowerPoint is already the required final environment and content needs to stay inside Microsoft 365.
Gamma remains strongest when the goal is to turn rough material into polished, web-native visual communication with minimal manual layout work.

Final verdict
Gamma is one of the most effective AI tools for turning unstructured ideas into polished visual communication quickly. Gamma 5, API access and connector workflows make it increasingly useful beyond one-off presentations.
Its limits are predictable: conventional presentation software still wins when exact PowerPoint fidelity, deep charts or unrestricted manual layout control matter. For fast storytelling and web-native sharing, Gamma is unusually strong.
