Fireflies Pricing 2026: Plans, AI Credits & Trial Costs

Fireflies pricing has two layers. The first is the core meeting subscription, billed per seat: Free, Pro, Business or Enterprise. The second is AI credits, which power advanced features such as AI Skills, AskFred, Custom Summaries, Magic Soundbites, Personal Assistant and Voice Agents.

This separation is the most important thing to understand before buying. A team can pay a competitive $10 per seat per month for annual Pro and still incur a second recurring AI-credit bill if advanced automation becomes central to the workflow.

Fireflies pricing at a glance

Free: $0

Free is a permanent plan for individuals and teams testing Fireflies. The current pricing page includes limited AI summaries, 400 minutes of team storage, 20 AI credits, transcription in more than 100 languages, meeting search, AskFred, file uploads, desktop/mobile apps, Chrome extension and API access.

The word “unlimited” needs context for new users. Fireflies changed Free-plan transcription behavior on September 1, 2026. New Free users receive transcription credits, but enabling Auto-join unlocks unlimited eligible meeting transcripts. Other capture or upload paths can consume the account's transcription-credit allocation.

Existing users who had unlimited Free meetings before September 1 keep their prior limits. That means two Free accounts can behave differently depending on signup date and capture method.

Pro: $18 monthly or $10 annual-equivalent

Pro costs $18 per seat with monthly billing or $10 per seat per month when billed annually, for $120 per seat per year.

It adds unlimited transcription, unlimited standard AI summaries, 8,000 minutes of storage per seat, video recording, downloads, Personal Assistant, Email Assistant, AI Skills, Voice Agents, action items/task management and unlimited integrations.

Pro is the practical paid tier for professionals who need exports, integrations and advanced workflow features but do not need team analytics or unlimited storage.

Business: $29 monthly or $19 annual-equivalent

Business costs $29 per seat monthly or $19 per seat per month on annual billing, for $228 per seat per year.

Business includes everything in Pro plus unlimited storage, 30 included AI credits, Multi-language Mode, conversation intelligence, team analytics, public meeting access and user groups.

This is the better fit for managers who need to analyze patterns across many calls rather than simply capture individual meetings.

Enterprise: $39 per seat per month, annual only

Enterprise is published at $39 per seat per month billed annually, or $468 per seat per year. Unlike many enterprise products, Fireflies publishes the seat rate even though customers still need to contact sales.

Enterprise adds 50 included AI credits, rules engine, SSO, SCIM, audit logs, HIPAA-oriented controls, private storage, custom retention, transcript-and-summary-only mode, super admin and dedicated account management.

Enterprise is the relevant tier for regulated or security-sensitive deployments where the data-control features matter more than raw meeting volume.

How AI credits work

AI credits are separate from transcription. Standard meeting transcription, note-taking and recap emails are covered by the core plan. Credits are used by advanced AI features.

Current examples include AI Skills, AskFred, Custom Summaries, Magic Soundbites, Personal Assistant, Voice Agents and other advanced analysis. Credit consumption can vary with complexity rather than following one fixed cost per meeting.

The core plans include a small number of credits—20 on Free/Pro, 30 on Business and 50 on Enterprise—but active teams can quickly need an add-on.

AI-credit packages

Current monthly packages are: 50 credits for $5, 200 for $20, 1,000 for $90, 2,500 for $200, 5,000 for $375, 7,500 for $450 and 10,000 for $600.

Annual AI-credit subscriptions are 20% cheaper than monthly billing. The monthly credit allowance remains the same; annual billing changes price and renewal structure, not the number of credits delivered each month.

Only paid Fireflies plans can purchase AI credits. A Free user must upgrade the base plan before adding paid AI capacity.

AI-credit rollover

Unused purchased AI credits do not carry into the next billing cycle. This is different from a prepaid wallet that accumulates over time.

Teams should therefore buy based on measured monthly use rather than purchasing a large package “just in case.” An oversized annual credit plan can waste capacity every month.

AI-credit auto-upgrade

Fireflies can automatically move an account to the next higher AI-credit tier when the current allocation is exhausted, depending on the workspace's Auto-Upgrade settings.

For annual AI-credit subscriptions, the upgrade is prorated within the annual billing cycle. Admins can pause auto-upgrade or cancel the separate AI-credit subscription.

This is operationally convenient but creates spend risk. A team deploying a new AI Skill to every call should monitor the first week of usage rather than letting an automation silently trigger a much larger credit tier.

Seven-day Business trial

Fireflies offers a seven-day trial of the Business plan. A valid card is required. The initial charge is $0, and users can cancel before the trial ends to avoid billing.

If the trial is not canceled, the selected paid plan starts automatically. Invited teammates who accept invitations become billable seats after the trial.

Fireflies also offers an optional AI-credit trial during onboarding. That add-on has its own conversion to paid billing, so a user who wants to remain on the base plan without AI credits should cancel both trial components where applicable.

Seat billing

Fireflies is billed per seat. Every admin or member added to the workspace counts as a billable seat. Removing someone reduces future seat count but does not refund the current billing cycle.

This matters during trials because an owner who invites several teammates can create a larger first invoice than expected. Admins should review accepted invitations before the conversion date.

Upgrades and downgrades

Plan upgrades take effect immediately and Fireflies bills the prorated difference for the remainder of the current cycle. Downgrades generally take effect at the end of the current term.

Organizations changing seat count and plan level at the same time should review the invoice preview because proration, teammate seats and AI credits are separate billing components.

Refund policy for monthly plans

Monthly subscriptions can qualify for a full refund when the service has been used for seven days or less and three or fewer meetings have been logged.

If the account exceeds those thresholds, Fireflies says a prorated monthly refund may be available. The exact refund reflects usage rather than assuming a no-questions-asked refund window.

Refund policy for annual plans

Annual subscriptions can qualify for a full refund within seven days when 20 or fewer meetings have been logged. Prorated annual refunds are not available.

AI-credit purchases are excluded from the refund policy. Fireflies says refunds normally take five to ten business days to return to the original payment method.

Cancellation

Canceling the core Fireflies subscription schedules the workspace to downgrade to Free at the end of the current billing cycle. Paid features remain available until then, and existing meetings/data remain in the account subject to Free-plan limits.

Canceling the AI-credit subscription is separate. A workspace can stop paying for AI credits while keeping Pro or Business, or cancel the core plan while still needing to manage the credit subscription before downgrade.

Annual savings

Pro drops from $18 to $10 per seat per month on annual billing, saving $96 per seat over twelve months. Business drops from $29 to $19, saving $120 per seat per year.

Enterprise is annual-only at $39 per seat per month. AI-credit annual billing is 20% lower than monthly.

The discounts are large enough to justify annual billing once the team understands its normal seat and AI-credit requirements. Trial and one or two real production months are safer than committing before the usage pattern is known.

Cost scenario: individual consultant

An individual consultant who mainly needs transcripts, summaries and downloads can use Pro for $18 monthly or $120 annually. If advanced AskFred and AI Skills use stays within included credits, the cost is straightforward.

If the consultant needs 50 additional credits every month, the effective monthly cost becomes $23 on monthly seat billing or approximately $14 annual-equivalent before taxes when combining annual Pro and annual AI credits.

Cost scenario: five-person sales team

Five Business seats cost $145 per month on monthly billing or $95 per month equivalent on annual billing. That includes 30 AI credits per plan allocation as defined by Fireflies, plus unlimited storage and conversation intelligence.

If the workspace also needs a 1,000-credit add-on, the monthly bill can increase by another $90 on monthly AI-credit billing. This illustrates why advanced AI can become a larger marginal cost than the difference between Pro and Business.

How to size an AI-credit package

The safest way to select a credit package is to measure actual advanced-AI usage for one representative week. Count how often the team runs AI Skills, uses AskFred beyond simple included actions, generates custom summaries or relies on Voice Agents and other credit-powered features. Multiply that weekly usage by four, then leave a modest buffer rather than jumping immediately to a large tier.

For example, a team using 160 credits in a normal week is likely to consume roughly 640 credits in a month. The 1,000-credit package may then be more appropriate than repeatedly triggering auto-upgrades from a 200-credit plan. A team using only 30 to 40 credits per week may be better served by 200 credits.

Because unused purchased credits expire at the end of each cycle, overbuying has a direct cost. This makes Fireflies different from a prepaid wallet where excess usage accumulates as future value.

Monthly versus annual AI-credit billing

Annual AI-credit plans cost 20% less, but the monthly credit allowance does not increase. The savings reward stable recurring usage rather than buying a larger bank of credits upfront.

Annual billing therefore makes sense only after the workspace has a stable pattern. A new team should use monthly credits during rollout, monitor auto-upgrades and then annualize the package once its normal workload is clear.

What happens when teammates are added?

Each admin or member counts as a billable seat on paid plans. During the seven-day trial, invited teammates who accept are not charged immediately, but they become billable when the trial converts.

Admins should remove test users, contractors or duplicate accounts before the trial ends. Seat cleanup can be as important as choosing Pro versus Business because adding several unnecessary users can erase the savings from annual billing.

Fireflies pricing versus alternatives

Fathom Premium costs $20 monthly or $16 annual-equivalent, while its Team plan is $19/$15 per user and Business $34/$25 with two-user minimums. Otter Pro costs $16.99 monthly or $8.33 annual-equivalent and Business $30/$19.99. Descript is a different category: Hobbyist is $24/$16, Creator $35/$24 and Business $65/$50.

Fireflies is especially competitive when users need multiple capture sources and broad integrations. Fathom has a simpler unlimited Free live-meeting story, Otter has attractive annual pricing and mobile workflows, while Descript charges for a much deeper media-editing environment.

Final pricing verdict

Fireflies' base pricing is transparent and competitive, especially on annual Pro and Business. The Free plan also gives meaningful evaluation value.

The complexity is the second billing layer. Teams that use advanced AI heavily should think of Fireflies as a seat subscription plus an AI-usage subscription. Once that is budgeted explicitly, the product is much easier to compare fairly.
