Gemini Pricing 2026: Free, Plus, Pro & Ultra Costs

Gemini pricing now has four practical consumer levels: Free, Google AI Plus, Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra. In the US, Ultra itself has two usage configurations—5x Pro and 20x Pro—creating a wider gap between everyday premium use and maximum-access power users.

Google AI plans are bundles, not only Gemini subscriptions. Depending on tier and region they can include cloud storage, Gemini Notebook, Flow, Gemini inside Google apps, developer/creative tools and other Google benefits. That makes list-price comparisons imperfect if a buyer already pays for Google storage or related services.

Gemini pricing at a glance

Free: $0

Gemini Free requires only a Google Account. It includes current everyday models, varying access to stronger models, image generation and editing, Deep Research, Gemini Live, Canvas and Gems.

Free uses standard compute-based limits rather than one published fixed number of daily prompts. Resource-intensive features can be constrained sooner than simple chat during periods of high demand.

The current context window is 32k tokens. That is enough for normal conversations and moderate files but far below the one-million-token Pro/Ultra capacity.

Google AI Plus: $9.99/month

AI Plus is the entry subscription. Google currently describes it as approximately twice the Gemini usage of Free and gives it a 128k context window.

The plan also expands creative tools and Gemini Notebook and puts Gemini into selected Google apps such as Gmail. Current US Gemini subscription pages show 400 GB of storage, while another Google One plan page can expose different Plus storage packaging. This inconsistency reinforces Google's own warning that plan bundles can differ by account and market.

Plus is most attractive to users who mainly hit Free usage limits but do not need one-million-token context or the strongest Pro research/model access.

Google AI Pro: $19.99/month or $199.99/year

AI Pro costs $19.99 monthly in the US. SearchSagar's current source record verifies $199.99 per year, equivalent to approximately $16.67 per month before tax.

Pro offers about four times Free Gemini usage and raises context to one million tokens. It includes higher access to Pro models, Deep Research, video generation, Gemini Notebook and Flow, plus broader integration across Gmail, Docs, Vids and other Google apps.

The current US Gemini subscription page also shows 5 TB of cloud storage. Because bundle details can vary by market, storage should be treated as part of the account-specific value calculation rather than a permanent global entitlement.

AI Pro annual savings

Twelve monthly payments at $19.99 equal $239.88. The $199.99 annual plan therefore saves $39.89 per year, roughly 16.6%.

Annual billing is most sensible after the user confirms Pro solves a recurring constraint. Gemini changes rapidly, and account-specific bundles can evolve during a year.

Google AI Ultra 5x: $99.99/month

The lower Ultra configuration currently costs $99.99 per month and provides approximately five times AI Pro usage.

It includes higher Gemini model access, Deep Think, Gemini Spark where available, much higher Flow capacity, higher Gemini Notebook limits, additional Search/Chrome features in supported markets and broader access across Google's advanced AI ecosystem.

Google AI Ultra 20x: $199.99/month

The higher Ultra configuration currently costs $199.99 per month and raises usage to approximately twenty times AI Pro.

The product set is broadly the Ultra tier, but usage quotas—such as Gemini and Google Antigravity access—are materially higher. Current Google pages also associate larger Flow credit limits and other capacity benefits with the higher configuration.

This tier is for sustained high-volume use rather than better everyday chat alone.

No simple prompt quota

Google intentionally describes Gemini capacity as relative usage rather than a guaranteed number of prompts. Limits can depend on model, feature complexity, conversation length, file size and current demand.

This makes Gemini pricing harder to compare with services that publish fixed daily or monthly message allowances. A “4x” Pro account can still hit a specific resource-heavy feature limit before a simple-chat user does.

Context-window economics

For document-heavy users, context size can matter more than prompt count. Plus has 128k tokens, while Pro and Ultra have one million.

If the work frequently involves long contracts, research packets, large codebases or multiple reports, Pro's extra $10 over Plus can be easier to justify from reduced chunking and manual file splitting alone.

Deep Research limits

Deep Research is available more broadly than before, but daily and concurrent limits remain plan-dependent. Pro and Ultra get higher limits and stronger model access.

Google does not publish one permanent universal number in the current help page. Gemini shows users remaining research capacity when they approach the limit.

Gemini Spark plan requirement

Gemini Spark currently requires AI Pro or Ultra and a personal Google Account. It is not available to work or school accounts at this time.

This is not a universal “buy more Gemini prompts” wallet. Each Google AI product can have separate quota rules.

Gemini API costs are separate

Consumer Google AI plans do not cover normal production API use. Gemini API and Google Cloud developer services have separate pricing, rate limits and billing.

Cancellation

Google AI subscriptions can be canceled through Google One settings. Paid benefits continue according to the subscription term, after which the account returns to the applicable free or lower Google One experience.

Refunds

Google says Google One storage-plan purchases are generally non-refundable in most countries or regions. Local consumer law can override this.

Subscriptions purchased through Google Play or Apple App Store can also follow the store's refund process and terms. Buyers should request refunds through the channel that processed the payment.

Plan-sharing caveats

Google One storage and selected benefits can be shared with family members, but not every AI benefit is necessarily shareable in the same way or with identical quotas.

Final pricing verdict

Gemini's pricing ladder is sensible once the user separates context requirements from raw usage. AI Plus is inexpensive, Pro is the practical professional tier and Ultra is designed for unusually heavy demand.

The main pricing caveat is variability: Google changes models, limits, storage bundles and feature availability more dynamically than a simple fixed-quota SaaS product.
