n8n Pricing 2026: Community, Starter, Pro & Business

n8n pricing explained: free Community Edition, Starter, Pro and Business costs, workflow executions, AI credits, trials, self-hosting and cancellation terms.

n8n Pricing 2026: Community, Starter, Pro & Business

n8n prices paid plans by complete workflow executions rather than by each step. That is the central concept behind its pricing. One workflow run counts as one execution whether it contains three nodes or dozens of transformations, API calls and AI steps. Cloud plans add managed infrastructure and AI Assistant credits, while the free Community Edition lets technical users operate the software themselves.

The current annual prices are €20 per month for Cloud Starter with 2,500 executions, €50 for Cloud Pro with 10,000 and €667 for the self-hosted Business tier with 40,000. Enterprise is custom. n8n currently advertises annual billing as saving 17 percent compared with monthly pricing.

Quick verdict

Starter is the best entry point for teams that want managed hosting, while Pro is the more practical production tier because it adds admin roles, global variables, workflow history, execution search, more concurrency and higher AI-credit capacity. Community Edition can be the cheapest option for technical teams that already operate infrastructure, but server and maintenance costs are separate. Business is expensive at €667 annual-equivalent because it is aimed at organizations paying for SSO, version control, environments and scale rather than just additional executions.

n8n Community Edition pricing

The standard self-hosted Community Edition is free to use. It provides the core editor, workflow execution, integrations, webhooks, code nodes and automation features on infrastructure the user controls.

The software price is zero, but the operating cost is not. Teams must pay for servers, databases, storage, monitoring and backups and must handle upgrades, network security and incident response themselves.

Community Edition is therefore most economical for technically capable teams that already manage infrastructure. A nontechnical team can spend more engineering time operating a "free" deployment than it would spend on Cloud Starter.

n8n Starter pricing

Starter currently costs €20 per month when billed annually and includes 2,500 workflow executions per month with unlimited steps. The plan is hosted by n8n.

Starter includes one shared project, five concurrent executions, unlimited users and 2,300 AI Assistant credits per month. It is designed for individuals and small teams starting to run real automations without operating servers.

n8n Pro pricing

Pro currently costs €50 per month billed annually at the 10,000-execution tier. It includes everything in Starter plus three shared projects, 20 concurrent executions, admin roles, global variables, workflow history and execution search.

Pro AI Assistant credits vary by usage tier. Current n8n documentation lists 5,700 credits on a lower Pro tier and up to 13,700 credits on the higher Pro configuration. These credits refresh monthly and do not roll over.

Pro is the practical Cloud tier for teams running business-critical workflows because debugging, history and administrative features become more important as automation volume grows.

n8n Business pricing

Business currently costs €667 per month billed annually with 40,000 workflow executions. It is available only for self-hosted deployments under the present plan structure.

Business adds six shared projects, SSO/SAML/LDAP, 30 days of insights, different environments, scaling options and Git version control. The pricing is therefore based on organizational governance and production operations rather than the hosting cost alone.

Business licenses can be applied across multiple instances, with combined execution usage counting toward the contracted quota.

n8n Enterprise pricing

Enterprise uses custom pricing and can be deployed on n8n Cloud or self-hosted. It includes a custom execution allowance, unlimited shared projects, 200+ concurrent executions, extended retention, external secret-store integration, log streaming, invoice billing and dedicated support with SLA.

Enterprise is intended for larger organizations where compliance, support and deployment architecture matter more than a fixed public price.

How n8n executions work

n8n defines an execution as one run of an entire workflow. A workflow can contain many steps, loops and data transformations while still counting as one execution.

This is the biggest pricing difference versus task-based platforms. A complex workflow that would consume dozens or hundreds of individual operations elsewhere can remain one n8n execution, although external APIs and AI providers can still charge their own usage fees.

AI Assistant credits

AI Assistant credits are separate from workflow executions. Starter includes 2,300 credits each month. Pro currently provides 5,700 or 13,700 depending on its execution tier. Credits are consumed by AI-assisted workflow building and debugging according to task complexity.

Unused AI Assistant credits do not roll over, and n8n currently does not let users simply buy more AI Assistant credits as a standalone top-up. Moving to a higher plan or tier is the published way to increase the allowance.

Gateway and other AI credits

n8n introduced Gateway credits in September 2026 for supported AI models and tool services on eligible Cloud plans. These credits are distinct from the primary workflow-execution meter and let users test supported providers without setting up separate provider credentials.

n8n also publishes separate Credit Terms for usage-based AI services. Top-up credits are generally designed for use within 12 months, and unused purchased credits are non-refundable subject to statutory rights.

n8n Cloud free trial

Starter and Pro currently offer a 14-day n8n Cloud trial with no credit card required. The trial exposes Pro-level features but applies trial limits. Current pricing documentation lists 1,000 trial executions and 800 AI Assistant credits, with additional AI credits for selected AI-building features.

The n8n public API is not available in the standard Cloud trial. Community Edition and paid Cloud plans can provide API access under their applicable feature sets.

n8n Business trial

Business also offers a 14-day trial, but a payment card is required. The trial provides full Business features so organizations can test self-hosted identity, version control and environment capabilities before purchasing.

n8n monthly versus annual billing

n8n currently advertises annual billing as saving 17 percent. Billing frequency changes price but not the execution, concurrency or AI-credit limits of a given plan tier.

Monthly Cloud plans can be canceled for the end of the current month. The current Self-Serve Terms state that annual payments are non-refundable and provide twelve months of access.

Business overages

Business and Enterprise workflows continue running after the contracted quota is exceeded, but overage charges can apply. n8n currently states that Business overage pricing is €4,000 for an extra bucket of 300,000 executions if an upgrade is not arranged.

Organizations near the contracted quota should therefore treat overage pricing as an exception rather than a normal way to scale.

Startup discount

n8n currently offers an eligible startup plan at 50 percent off Business. The published startup page shows €333 per month billed annually for 40,000 executions and the Business feature set. Eligibility rules apply.

External costs to budget

Workflow-execution pricing does not include the cost of third-party applications, AI model APIs, databases or external services. A workflow using OpenAI, Anthropic, Salesforce or a paid data provider can therefore have costs outside n8n.

Self-hosted Community and Business customers must also budget for infrastructure, database storage, observability, backups, network security and engineering time.

n8n cancellation and refund policy

Paid Cloud subscriptions can be canceled through the Admin Dashboard. The subscription stops renewing at the next billing cycle. n8n's current Self-Serve Terms state that monthly plans can be canceled with access continuing through the paid month, while annual payments are non-refundable.

For Business, monthly cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and annual cancellation at the end of the annual term. n8n states that it does not provide pro-rata refunds.

Which n8n plan offers the best value?

Choose Community Edition if your team can responsibly operate its own infrastructure. Choose Starter for low-volume managed Cloud automation. Choose Pro for most production Cloud use. Choose Business when self-hosted governance, SSO, Git and environments justify the price. Choose Enterprise when compliance, support, high concurrency and deployment flexibility drive the purchase.

n8n pricing compared with alternatives

Make Core currently starts at $12 per month for 10,000 credits, with each executed module action generally consuming a credit. Zapier Professional starts at $19.99 per month and uses task-based pricing. Gumloop Pro starts at $37 per month with 20,000 credits and unlimited seats.

Those meters are not directly comparable. n8n charges completed workflow executions, Make charges module actions, Zapier charges tasks with variable rates for some AI or code actions, and Gumloop prices model, tool and compute usage through credits. Complex workflows are where the difference matters most.

Final pricing verdict

n8n's pricing is unusually favorable to complex workflows because step count does not directly multiply the primary usage meter. Starter and Pro are straightforward managed Cloud options, while Community Edition gives technical teams a low-license-cost path to self-hosting.

The main jump happens at Business, where buyers pay for organizational capabilities rather than merely more executions. Before selecting a tier, count completed workflows per month, identify whether you need managed Cloud or self-hosting and price external APIs separately.

Expert tip

Take your three highest-volume workflows and calculate monthly completed executions. Then count the steps those same workflows would consume on Make or Zapier. This makes n8n's execution-based pricing advantage—or lack of one—visible before you commit.
