Intercom Fin pricing is built around outcomes rather than a flat AI-agent subscription. Standard Fin outcomes currently cost $0.99 each, while a successful Fin for Sales qualification costs $9.99. If you use Fin with Intercom's own helpdesk, you also pay per full seat on the Essential, Advanced or Expert plan. How Intercom Fin pricing works
Intercom pricing has two potential cost layers. The first is usage: Fin outcomes. The second is seats: teammates with full access to the Intercom helpdesk. A company using Fin on another supported helpdesk can avoid Intercom seat costs, while a company adopting the combined Fin and Intercom platform pays for both the chosen plan and Fin usage.
That distinction is central to understanding value. A buyer comparing Fin with another AI agent should not automatically add Intercom seat pricing if the company plans to keep Salesforce, HubSpot, Freshworks or another supported platform. Conversely, a buyer replacing the existing helpdesk with Intercom should model the complete seat and usage bill.
Fin outcome pricing
Intercom currently charges $0.99 for standard Fin outcomes. Current outcome categories include a resolution, successful procedure handoff, disqualification and self-serve routing. A full sales qualification is priced separately at $9.99. Intercom charges only one outcome per conversation, even when Fin answers multiple questions or takes multiple actions during that conversation.
This creates a performance-oriented model: a conversation that does not reach a billable outcome does not generate the same standard success charge. However, the model can also make spending rise as automation becomes more successful. Support leaders should view that as a forecasting issue, not simply a pricing drawback.

Fin with an existing helpdesk
Intercom offers Fin as a standalone AI agent for supported existing helpdesks. The public pricing page says there are no Intercom seat costs, no setup, integration or platform fees, and that a minimum monthly commitment applies. Intercom gives 50 outcomes as an example of that commitment, while exact commercial terms can vary by account.
This deployment is especially relevant to organizations that want to test Fin without replacing a mature support stack. Intercom currently documents self-serve or supported paths for platforms including HubSpot and Freshworks, while Salesforce and some other environments are sales-assisted.
Essential pricing
Essential costs $39 per full seat per month on monthly billing or $29 per seat per month when billed annually. It includes Fin AI Agent, Messenger, a shared inbox, ticketing, pre-built reports and a public help center. Fin outcomes are billed separately from the seat price.
Essential is the entry plan for teams that want both the Intercom helpdesk and Fin. It is best compared with the cost of the support platform being replaced, not with a standalone AI-agent price.
Advanced pricing
Advanced costs $99 per full seat per month on monthly billing or $85 annual-equivalent. It adds multiple team inboxes, workflow automation, round-robin assignment, a private and multilingual help center and 20 included Lite seats. Fin usage remains outcome-based.
Advanced is designed for growing service organizations where routing, team structure and automation are becoming operational requirements. The Lite-seat allowance can matter when many internal collaborators need visibility but do not require full customer-messaging permissions.
Expert pricing
Expert costs $139 per full seat per month on monthly billing or $132 annual-equivalent. It adds SSO and identity-management controls, HIPAA support, service-level agreements, multibrand Messenger and Help Center capabilities and 50 Lite seats.
The narrower annual discount means Expert buyers should evaluate it primarily on governance, security, brand structure and service-management requirements rather than expecting a dramatic annual price reduction.
Optional Intercom add-ons
Copilot
Copilot is an optional AI assistant for human agents. Intercom currently prices unlimited Copilot at $35 per agent per month on monthly billing or $29 per agent per month when billed annually. Every agent also gets a small number of free Copilot and AI auto-translation conversations each month.
Pro
Pro starts at $99 per month and adds Operator plus advanced AI features for analyzing performance, monitoring quality and improving Fin. Intercom says the package includes monthly credits, with additional credits available at $0.01 each when the included amount is exhausted.
Proactive Support Plus
Proactive Support Plus costs $99 per month and includes 500 messages for outbound and in-app engagement features such as Product Tours, Surveys, in-app messages and related campaign tools. Additional usage is charged separately.
Fin free trial
Intercom currently offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial includes the chosen Intercom plan, Fin and available add-ons. Buyers can train and test Fin before live deployment, which makes the trial more useful than a simple limited demo.
When the trial ends, the workspace is paused until the customer selects a paid plan. This means teams should define success criteria before activating the live trial: response quality, resolution coverage, escalation accuracy and estimated outcome volume are more useful than simply counting how many conversations the agent handled.
Fin Guarantee and refunds
Intercom has a separate Fin Guarantee for eligible new customers. The current standard guarantee requires the customer to use Fin in at least 250 paid conversations and request the refund within the first 90 days. It applies to Fin spend and is subject to exclusions and a stated cap.
Outside that promotional guarantee and other specific contractual exceptions, Intercom's current Terms state that fees are non-refundable. Buyers should therefore treat the guarantee as a conditional promotional program, not as a general cancellation policy for every Intercom charge.
Cancellation rules
Self-serve monthly and annual subscriptions can be canceled from workspace billing settings. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period. An annual subscription that is not under a separate contract can be scheduled to end at the next annual renewal. Contract customers follow the notice requirements in their agreement.
What can make Intercom Fin more expensive?
The most obvious variable is successful outcome volume. A company that improves its knowledge and procedures may automate more conversations, which increases the number of billable successes. Seat growth is the second variable for full Intercom deployments. Messaging channels such as SMS, WhatsApp and Phone can create separate usage charges, while add-ons such as Copilot, Pro and Proactive Support Plus add recurring cost.
Sales teams should also distinguish the $9.99 qualification outcome from the $0.99 standard outcome rate. If Fin is used heavily for buyer qualification, the blended cost per conversation can be materially different from a support-only deployment.
How to estimate your monthly Fin bill
A practical estimate starts with conversation volume. Suppose a support team expects 10,000 monthly Fin-involved conversations and forecasts 45 percent will produce standard billable outcomes. That would be 4,500 outcomes, or $4,455 in Fin usage before any seat, channel or add-on charges. If the same company has 20 Essential full seats on annual billing, the seat layer adds $580 per month equivalent.
This is only an illustration, not a claim about expected automation rates. Your actual result will depend on knowledge quality, customer mix, channel, procedures and how Intercom defines the relevant outcome. Running the calculation at low, base and high automation scenarios is more useful than relying on a single estimate.
Which Intercom Fin option offers the best value?
Use standalone Fin if you already have a helpdesk you want to keep and mainly need an AI service agent. Choose Essential when you want Intercom's helpdesk and core Fin capabilities at the lowest seat price. Choose Advanced when routing, workflow automation and team collaboration justify the step up. Choose Expert when security, SLAs and multibrand requirements are the reason for purchase.

Final pricing verdict
Fin's pricing is transparent at the unit level but not inherently predictable at scale. The $0.99 standard outcome rate is easy to compare, yet total spend grows with successful automation and can also include seats, sales qualifications, channels and add-ons. That means the cheapest-looking deployment at low volume may not be the cheapest at high volume—and the opposite can also be true if Fin materially reduces human workload.
The best way to buy Fin is to build a volume-based model before signing. Estimate outcomes, qualification mix and seat needs, then compare the total against the cost of the human workload and platform stack Fin would replace or reduce.
