8. ST. George’s College Weybridge:

9. The Triffin Girl’s School:

As we steadily approach the end of this beautiful list, we take a look at Triffin Girl’s, an all-girls selective school located in Kingston upon the Thames, southwest London, England. It was established 141 years ago and had been breaking records and soaring high ever since.

Additional Details

The school transformed from a Voluntary aided status to become an academy school on April 1st, 2011. The school has approximately 1000 pupils aged between 11 and 18, including up to 300 students in the sixth form. Admission into the school is usually by the academic selection, using a Mathematics and English test, and the school usually assigns priority to girls from its surrounding community. The number of children admitted to the school each year is 180, this is an improvement upon the number it used to be, which is 150.

The school constructed a new drama studio in 2007 and raised money for a new music studio that opened in September 2009. It also has a floodlit all-weather astroturf for hockey, floodlit netball/tennis courts, and a community development sports program for after-school activities. Students in this school are a mixture of 52% boys and 48% girls. The pupil-to-teacher ratio is also really encouraging.

10. Queen’s University:

Wimbledon College is a government-maintained school that was founded in 1892. It is affiliated with the Sacred Heart Church and Donhead Preparatory School, which was its former feeder preparatory school.

The school has drastically expanded, from nearly 500 pupils in 1950 to 670 by the mid-1960s. Recently, it expanded its facilities to include a new wing of classrooms, kitchens, and toilets. The school has a sixth form that caters to 296 pupils aged 16 to 19. It also provides A-levels and the Extended Project Qualification and offers several vocational qualifications, including level 3 and level 2 BTECs and some GCSEs. The school encourages its students to participate in the events of the more comprehensive school, especially extracurricular activities that are meant to expose the students to live outside the school. The most recent Ofsted inspection upgraded the rating from ‘Satisfactory’ to ‘Good’. The college ranked sixth out of nine state schools in Merton in 2016 and 2017.
