About:
The Being Human Foundation is a Mumbai-based charity, founded by Bollywood star Salman Khan in 2007, which provides education and health care services to underprivileged people in India. The organization is mainly funded by sales of Being Human branded merchandise, which made a profit of around 120 crores until August 2018, of which the charity’s share was 12-15cr.
The foundation carries out many charitable activities. It funds the education of 200 children at Akshara High School in Mumbai and another 300 through Aseema, a non-profit organization based in Mumbai. The foundation supports the VEER Initiative, a training program for people with disabilities. Human being has the disposition to employ at least one person with different abilities.
Being human is an NGO and they try to provide each and every basic necessity to the people who are suffering from health problems or can’t get a good education. Therefore, as of December 2015, the program had trained 1,909 people, of whom 1,194 had found employment. The organization has programs in place to improve the basic skills of students and career development centres.
